Five-star sustainability in Singapore

Angliss International Hotel School students learnt about five-star sustainability in the luxury hotel industry during a five day study tour of Singapore. The group attended multicultural tours, engaged in industry presentations and familiarisations of the prestigious Marina Bay Sands, PanPacific, JW Marriott and PARKROYAL on Pickering hotels.

At the PARKROYAL on Pickering Lee Kn Seng, Director of Marketing Communications, held a masterclass on ‘Sustainability at PARKROYAL on Pickering’. Lee discussed sustainability awards received by the five-star hotel, and the eco-friendly architectural design that integrates environmental elements throughout the property. The group were taken on a hotel tour and discussed specific examples of sustainability throughout the hotel. The masterclass concluded with a morning tea and networking session, hotel staff and students shared their experiences and career goals.

As an essential part of the study tour itinerary, the students were given in-depth back and front of house tours of five-star hotels Marina Bay Sands, PanPacific and JW Marriott.

The study tour is a highlight of our curriculum, providing essential knowledge of the international hotel industry. Experience in global tourism equips students with indispensable travel and cultural awareness for their future career.

The group attended presentations at William Angliss Institute’s Singapore office. Copthorne King’s Hotel senior sales manager Anne Seah discussed her career journey and strategies for the growth of the contemporary four-star hotel. William Angliss Institute corporate trainer and head of the sales and marketing department Megan Harris shared her career journey, and discussed international hotel growth in Singapore.

Angliss International Hotel School was launched in 2016 and offers students a customised study pathway to take service delivery to a new and luxurious level. Students have access to personalised careers support to help them gain skills in managing their careers and in gaining employment.

The program offers a Diploma of Hospitality which is delivered over 12 months and focuses on developing students’ skills in hotel management.
