Canley Heights restaurant Thanh Mai damaged by flames that take six fire crews to vanquish

Firefighters have extinguished a blaze at Thanh Mai Vietnamese restaurant, in Canley Heights, which threatened customers early this morning.

The blaze erupted in the kitchen of the restaurant on Canley Vale Rd at 10am.

Fire crews from Smithfield, Cabramatta, Busby, Parramatta, Bonnyrigg Heights and Guildford were sent to the scene.

They quickly evacuated a group of people in the restaurant and extinguished the flames.

As the restaurant is located in a row of shops, firefighters remained to ventilate the property and check surrounding properties.

None of the people in the restaurant were injured.
