Giddy Goat reopens cafe after extensive renovation

WITH a raft of exciting new changes unveiled yesterday at The Giddy Goat, owners Karl and Georgina Schamburg disagreed with misconceptions about the "struggling" CBD.

In fact, one of the reasons for the renovation in the cafe area, which saw building works begin on January 4, was because they needed more space for patrons at the popular venue.

"We've been open for five years this year ... you want to keep reinventing yourself and keeping fresh," Georgina said.

Extra seating is now available for about 140 people inside the cafe, which is now much larger after builders took space from the adjoining bar area.

A new outside dining area adds more seating, which the Schamburgs are hoping they'll need now that a new menu has also been unveiled.

Tapas and cocktails are now available after 5pm, with healthy takeaway options also introduced for lunch and breakfast, including things like chia seed pudding and acai bowls.

"We wanted more room, we wanted to revamp, but we also wanted to add our cocktails and tapas to the restaurant menu as well," Karl said.

"We've slowly and progressively added more health conscious meals and snacks too."
