OpenTable set to serve Australian restaurants and diners

Leading global reservations platform to launch Down Under

OpenTable, the world’s leading provider of online restaurant bookings and part of The Priceline Group (NASDAQ:PCLN), has confirmed plans to launch in Australia.

Set to transform the dining experience for Australian restaurateurs and restaurant-goers alike, OpenTable has been at the forefront of online restaurant bookings for the past 17 years. The platform currently works with more than 33,000 eateries in the United States, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico and the UK, and has seated more than 940 million diners.

In Australia, OpenTable will enable consumers to discover and book the perfect table every time they dine out. For restaurants, OpenTable will showcase its flagship hospitality products, Connect and Guest Centre, as well as the recently acquired ResPAK table and guest management solution. These elegant and intuitive products have been specifically developed to ensure that restaurants can deepen relationships with diners and enhance the overall dining experience.

Adam Clarke, VP and Managing Director, APAC says OpenTable’s expansion into Australia marks an exciting milestone for the brand.

“Whether it’s at a café, neighbourhood bistro or hatted restaurant, Aussies love to dine out and we’re committed to empowering what that experience means for people.

“OpenTable’s growth has been driven by our ability to develop products that cater for the changing needs of restaurants and diners. Here in Australia, we will continue to innovate by providing insight into dining trends and behaviours, and building on all we have learned over the past two decades.”

With a fast-growing menu of high profile restaurants, Aussie diners will be able to use OpenTable to make bookings at eateries such as Neil Perry’s Rockpool, Matt Moran’s ARIA restaurants, Otto Ristorante, MoVida and Jamie’s Italian when the platform goes live mid-December.
