Spanish restaurant Tapas Tapas Bodega is named finalist for the third time in national restaurant award
A SPANISH restaurant in Turramurra has been named as a finalist in a national restaurant and catering competition.
This is the third time in a row Tapas Tapas Bodega has been selected as a finalist in the Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.
Restaurateur Crista Bracamonte said word of mouth had spread about her restaurant’s success.
“After two-and-a-half years, Tapas Tapas has become a gastronomic destination for foodies from Sydney surrounds and international visitors who enjoy authentic Spanish Catalan and Basque cuisine,” she said.
The family-run restaurant is headed by lead chef Ramon Bracamonte with help from his son, sous chef Julian.
The team at Tapas Tapas travel to Spain once a year to visit the kitchens of top Spanish chefs such as Arzak, Martin Berasategui and Antonio Gazquez for inspiration.
“At Tapas Tapas Bodega good food should never be boring; instead it should be an exciting way of eating,” Ms Bracamonte said.
“For Ramon, ‘tapas’ is a global concept that unites Spanish gastronomy and Australian produce in an artistic form expressing the joy of life, appreciation of good food and company.”
Ms Bracamonte said due to many requests, the restaurant would plan a food lovers’ luncheon every Sunday at 1pm.
She said she was looking forward to the winners being announced, on Monday, September 21.
The restaurant is at shop 1, 1269 Pacific Highway, Turramurra.
