Almond Breeze Barista Blend releases first Australian Barista Census

Almond Breeze Barista Blend Census

Only officially recognised as a vocation in 2006 by the Australian Census, the barista has seen a meteoric rise increasing by 72%* from 2011 to 2016.

New research, the Australian Barista Census (ABC), released by Almond Breeze Barista Blend and BaristasforBaristas.com uncovers how Australia’s thriving coffee scene is setting the pace globally, and discovers what keeps baristas up at night and what their aspirations are for the future.

Almond Breeze Barista Blend explored the ins and outs of Australia's thriving coffee scene, which adds 3,100 baristas a year to the national roster, through qualitative and quantitative research.

The research discovered how Aussie baristas really feel about their job role, what they love about making coffee and the challenges they face on a day to day basis. It also looked into baristas' opinions on hot topics in the industry, including sustainability and automation.
