Mel Gibson drops into Paragon Cafe in Goulburn to suss out film locations as Lucia tours Sydney

MEL Gibson and a band of merry men, thought to be film industry associates, packed up their car and headed west yesterday in search of suitable locations for Gibson’s next film project, the WWII drama Hacksaw Ridge.

The Hollywood star drove out of Sydney, Canberra-bound it seemed to eyewitnesses, and were sighted heading into that historic roadside pit-stop, the Paragon Cafe, in Goulburn in the early afternoon.

Alarmed staff were unable to furnish Confidential with details of Gibson’s visit when approached, fumbling briefly with the phone before, it seemed, dropping the phone, flustered.

Gibson’s daughter with ex girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, Lucia, 5, was earlier seen jumping into a waiting luxury car in readiness for a big day of sightseeing in Sydney with a nanny — jet lag apparently no issue for the littlie who made the long distance trip from California to spend a few weeks with her dad in his old home town.

On Wednesday night, after tucking Lucia into her bed at a posh harbourside mansion, Gibson and another unidentified man dined at Surry Hills restaurant Maya Tandoori. It was Gibson’s second night dining in Confidential’s neighbourhood this week.

The two men looked to be intensely discussing scripts over dinner before Gibson’s hopped a cab back to his eastern suburbs’ chateau.
