Newport’s Hops and Fire takes on 14 contenders including Coogee Pavilion, Tokonoma and Lumi Bar and Dining in the New Restaurant category.
“We up against some quite well known restaurants, so being nominated is awesome,” restaurant manager/chef Mike Stuart said.
The steak house opened in April, bringing small batch craft beer and steaks to the northern beaches, he said.
The beaches’ strongest representation comes in the Indian/Sub-Continent category with three nominations from a field of 10. Ashiana in Manly, Seaforth’s Bijolias and Urban Tadka in Terrey Hills will take on the best of Sydney’s spicy eateries.
Other nominations include Hugos Manly for its pizzas, Bavarian Bier Cafe Manly in the Beer Cafe/Wine Bar section and Narrabeen venue, The Bored Monkey in the informal Contemporary Australian category.
Catering nominees are Milestone Events; Corella Fine Foods, Flavours of Spain Catering and The Collaroy Centre, which has picked up two nominations.
NSW awards will be announced in Sydney in September. The national awards will be held in Brisbane in October. Visit manlydaily.com.au to see the full list of local finalists.
