Awards for Excellence finalist announced for Western Australia
The Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence are the premier Awards program recognising the achievements of Australia’s restaurant & catering industry.
One-hundred and thirty-seven finalists were acknowledged at the Finalists Announcement Cocktail Party on Tuesday 5th May at the Perth Concert Hall WA, ahead of the gala Awards evening to be held on Monday 20th August at the Burswood Grand Ballroom.
Restaurant & Catering Western Australia President Warwick Lavis said, ‘The Restaurant and Catering Awards have never been more important than they are in today’s market. As an industry from many diverse backgrounds, dreams and ideals, we have to have one goal to provide better food, service and hospitality than we did yesterday.’
CEO of Restaurant & Catering, John Hart, added that ‘it is important to ensure we acknowledge and celebrate the success of all our finalists, not only the winners. Being a finalist in this prestigious Awards program is a huge achievement in itself.’
Carolynne Troy from the 2011 WA Metropolitan Restaurant of the Year, Restaurant Amusé, said of the Awards for Excellence; ‘For us the awards process created valuable recognition of what we were doing amongst both the general public and within the industry and at the same time it encouraged our team to continue to strive to for excellence, it also helped us to consolidate what we wanted to achieve a restaurateurs.’
All Finalists were awarded with a certificate acknowledging their status. The winner from each category at the Awards for Excellence will then go on to compete at the National Awards on Monday 29th October at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Establishments that enter the Awards for Excellence are judged by a team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine winners. Scores are based on the entire dining experience of that one judge on a specific evening.
Restaurant & Catering represent thousands of restaurant and catering businesses operating across Australia. Each year over 900 members are reviewed in the Awards for Excellence.
