Jamie Oliver’s newest Australian restaurant Trattoria set to open in Parramatta

AUSTRALIA’s first Jamie’s Trattoria is expected to open its doors in Sydney’s west on Monday.

Waiters, chefs and front of house staff were training on-site at the newly furnished restaurant on the edge of Centenary Square last week.

It is believed the restaurant is due to open on Monday, but Jamie’s Australian management have kept quiet about the official launch date.

Jamie Oliver will miss the restaurant opening on Monday.

The build-up has gained momentum on social media this week with many Twitter users asking if they could make a booking.

@JamiesTrattAu also tweeted a photo last week of the newly recruited staff about to start their training.

“We’re loving the energy from our excited new team members! Are you ready for us, Parramatta? JT x” it read.

Housed in a former bridal shop on the corner of Macquarie and Church streets, the trattoria will be open seven days a week and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hearty fare including pasta and pizza is expected to be on the menu, along with lighter options such as grab and go sandwiches and breakfast pastries.

The restaurant was formerly the site of a bridal wear shop

There will also be a grill section with food cooked under a hot brick in Tuscan style, and a function space on the second floor for up to 50 people.

Jamie’s Italian Australia executive chef David Clarke told the Parramatta Advertiser last month that the new restaurant would be a “family everyday restaurant”.

“It’s a smaller version of what the Jamie’s Italians are,” he said.

“The menu does change a bit more, it is a bit more nutritious and it is a bit more affordable as well.”
