Westin five-star hotel, office tower approved for Perth

PERTH is one step closer to boasting a five-star hotel with local authorities approving construction of a $500 million, 22-level office tower and luxury hotel complex on Hay Street.

A Starwood-branded Westin Hotel will anchor the development in the city’s eastern heritage precinct and is scheduled to open in 2017. The developer, BGC Development, is also working with Starwood to deliver the Aloft Perth Rivervale hotel at The Springs.

Starwood director acquisitions and development, Andrew Taylor, said apart from the Westin Perth, the group had a W hotel in development in Brisbane and the Four Points by Sheraton, under construction by Hiap Hoe in Melbourne’s Docklands.
