Brisbane Airport rolls out major food and beverage overhaul
Brisbane Airport will reshape the pre-departure dining experience for international travellers, with more than a dozen new and upgraded food and beverage outlets as part of the precinct's ongoing multi-billion dollar redevelopment.
The transformation has been designed with a distinctly Queensland identity in mind. Brisbane Airport Corporation executive general manager (commercial) Scott Norris said the project was about creating a sense of place from the moment travellers arrive.
"This food and retail upgrade will create a terminal that feels unmistakably like Brisbane; relaxed, welcoming and full of great food," Norris said.
"We know travellers want to enjoy local flavours (and) the upgraded terminal will feature a mix of Brisbane bites and international favourites designed to make the pre-flight experience feel a little more like the holiday itself."
Four outlets are on track to open mid-year, spanning a broad range of formats. Mediterranean-inspired bar Manna will join global fast food staple KFC, all-day dining venue Liv Eat and Japanese specialist Sushi Jiro as the precinct's inaugural wave of new operators.
A dedicated zone to be known as The Dining Precinct will also consolidate a diverse roster of concepts under one roof. The line-up includes gelato from Gelatissimo, baked goods from local favourite Jocelyn's Provisions, gourmet sandwiches from Brisbane institution Joe's Deli, and the Deck Bar & Eatery for those seeking a more relaxed sit-down experience. Coffee Trader will cater to caffeine seekers, while international concepts — Souva Greek Eats, Asian Street Kitchen and Sol Mexican Eats — round out the global offering.
All outlets are expected to be trading by the end of next year.
