John Singleton's Saddles precinct expands with 20-villa luxury lodge
A new luxury accommodation offering has landed on the NSW Central Coast, with entrepreneur John Singleton opening The Grand Saddles Lodge at Mount White. The 20-villa retreat combines fine dining, a piano bar and a day spa less than an hour from Sydney.
The Lodge sits opposite the existing Saddles restaurant, The Homestead, and represents the next stage of growth for the wider Saddles precinct, which already includes The Barn and The Caravan.
The Homestead has previously been recognised by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the World's Most Beautiful Restaurants.
Designed by Michelle Leslie in collaboration with White + Dickson Architects, the property draws on Singleton's long-standing ties to hospitality and the Central Coast. Guests arrive via a driveway through native bushland to a glass-domed entrance, with interiors built around sandstone, spotted gum, brass and furnishings sourced from local makers.
Each of the 20 villas includes separate living areas, an open fireplace, a private terrace and a plunge pool, with guests also able to use a shared infinity pool and pool bar overlooking the bush.
The villas were designed in consultation with Central Coast artists and craftspeople.
Food and beverage will run across two offerings. The main restaurant, housed in The Lodge's central building, will focus on Australian produce including fresh local seafood, organic beef and poultry. It is backed by an Australian and international wine list and produce grown in on-site herb and vegetable gardens.
By night, the Art Deco-styled Ned's piano bar takes over, offering classic cocktails, bar plates and live jazz around a central grand piano.
Wellness is covered by a five-treatment-room spa featuring traditional and infrared saunas, ice baths and treatments built around native Australian botanicals. The Lodge team will also arrange guest itineraries covering nearby attractions, including Hawkesbury River experiences, oyster farm visits and local walking trails.
Bookings for The Grand Saddles Lodge open this spring.
