Machete wielding thief steals thousands from Adelaide’s Globe Derby hotel
Staff at the Globe Derby hotel in Adelaide were threatened by a machete wielding thief who stole thousands of dollars and is still on the run.
The thief held up two staff members at the hotel and forced them to open the safe, remove the cash and stuff it in a duffel bag.
Staff was shaken but fortunately unharmed.
Police attended the Globe Derby Trotting Park following the incident, with patrols flooded the area looking for a man in a black hooded jumper and dark pants.
The thief’s face was covered at all times.
