Sydney gets the world’s first astrology hotel

Something for those who are guided by the stars when they travel.

Australian boutique hotel group 8Hotels has just opened the world’s first astrology hotel in Sydney.

The Ultimo Hotel is located in Chinatown, within walking distance to Darling Harbour and some of the city's best and cheapest eateries.

The heritage listed building has rooms that are aligned with the stars.

What the hotel offers visitors is a Sydney experience based on their star signs. Curated by astrologer Damien Rocks, the offer includes travel guides on places to eat and drink and things to see, all tailored to suit you whether you are a Capricorn, Scorpio or Cancer.

The hotel itself has 95 rooms across seven room categories, including Ultimo Single to Ultimo Courtyard.

And it’s all based around astrology with zodiac-themed 'Do not disturb' signs, daily horoscopes that come with the newspapers and slippers in matching zodiac designs.  There’s also an astrolo-tea specially selected to match your zodiac sign and an astrology library.

It also offers Astro packages starting from the Star Charts packages (from $229 for per person and $265 for two people) which include accommodation for up to two guests with a personalised star chart on arrival, moon calendar and slippers. Another offer is the Off The Charts package (from $329 for per person and $469 for two people) which includes accommodation for up to two people with a one-hour face-to-face astrology reading with the Stars Like You team, moon calendar and slippers.

The Ultimo is just one type of hotel that 8hotels is offering. It plans to open more hotels later this year,

Plans are afoot for the Little Albion, a 35-room luxury guest house hotel in Surry Hills; and the Felix, a 150 room hotel at Sydney's Airport.

The chain operates 21 hotels in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Thredbo, Daylesford , Bali, Fiji and Paris.
