Cove Bar & Dining rebrands to River Quay Fish
South Bank is set to reel in an all-new dining destination to the popular River Quay precinct with the arrival of River Quay Fish last Friday. River Quay Fish has replaced Cove Bar & Dining in its bid to throw the vibrant social strip into the realm of contemporary and creative seafood dishes.
While remaining under the same ownership as Cove, River Quay Fish will offer local, stylish seafood cuisine – a desirable and underexplored venture at South Bank’s waterfront location.
Adam Barton, owner, said: “South Bank lacks a restaurant that focuses on quality, local seafood dishes done with style. RQF will bring this to River Quay along with an experimental cocktail list and selection of craft beers – perfect for relaxed long lunches.”
Along with his involvement with Cove Bar & Dining, Adam is also the co-owner of Brisbane’s hit live music bar, Brooklyn Standard, and co-owner of Chingon, the city’s newest Mexican street food venue. Applying his passion for food toward River Quay Fish’s concept of supplying sustainable produce, Adam will provide local seafood at affordable prices.
With gorgeous views of the Brisbane river, the restaurant brings to life the airy feeling of relaxing by the water with its open-plan and minimalistic dining space. Group dining tables and intimate settings sit within a vibrant colour palette featuring orange and wooden aesthetics and plenty of greenery.
The menu has been geared towards adding a fresh twist to the Australian staple of fish and chips. Dishes include contemporary combinations such as beetroot-cured Huon Valley salmon, Singaporean style blue swimmer crab coconut rice, and parmesan truffle oil chips. A heavy focus of this menu is its affordability to the average Brisbane household in contrast to many other modern seafood venues.
In the spirit of capturing the youthful and buzzing South Bank environment, River Quay Fish will also be offering a list of craft beers and classic cocktails. Lazy afternoon dining and exciting dinner dates will benefit from an indulgence into this thoughtful and unique beverage list.
The central location and innovative menu is expected to draw in a corporate crowd for city-side lunches, while dinners and weekend meals will be well-suited to families, young couples and group diners. In a twist to the classic restaurant experience, River Quay Fish will also launch a relaxed al fresco menu for those who wish to take their food down by the river or into the South Bank parklands.
River Quay Fish is excited to participate in Brisbane’s famed Riverfire on Saturday 24 September. Making a prime setting for viewing the fireworks show, the restaurant will be serving up three course meals with a bang for adults and kids alike.
