Firewater Grille gets best restaurant award

Perth restaurant Firewater Grille, located in the lobby of the Duxton Hotel in the city’s CBD, has picked up major international accolades at the 2016 World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
It’s been named best hotel restaurant in Australia.
Extraordinarily, it’s the second time in three years that the hotel has won the award, winning the title of best restaurant – Australasia and Oceania continent division at the 2014 awards.
Judges voted on a number of criteria, combining the food experience as a whole and aspects of service excellence, presentation, quality and menu choices.
Guests and industry professionals chose the winners.
The Firewater Grille is also known for its distinctive décor featuring spacious leather booths and round dining tables. The setting is designed to allow guest to sit back and enjoy either an intimate evening or dine in a communal setting. There’s also a water feature with discreet flames, ensuring the night is memorable.
Duxton Hotel general manager Bruce Doig said it was a great honour.
"We are extremely excited by this honour," he said. "To be recognised as the best hotel restaurant in Australia is so humbling,’’ Mr Doig told The Age.
"I congratulate the Firewater Grille team for creating a professional outstanding level of food service and ambience.

The ceremonies announcing the winners was held in Cape Town in South Africa.
Other notable winners included Italy's Prego and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, which has restaurants in London and Melbourne.
The World Luxury Restaurant Awards always inspires healthy competition in the Luxury Restaurant industry.
