New hotel rooftop bar and executive lounge at Darling Harbour

M&L Hospitality has received approval from the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure to build a new rooftop bar and executive lounge at the Northern Tower of Australia’s largest hotel property by room number.

Surrounded by high glass balustrade with operable louvres, the new rooftop bar and executive lounge is an expansion of the existing rooftop bar, and is poised to inject new life to the growing bar scene at and around Darling Harbour.

The appointed architects Cox Richardson Architects will pay close attention to the details of its façade to ensure that the two new floors will complement the existing curve of the tower. This will allow guests to enjoy the stunning views of Darling Harbour.

Backed by the prominent Singapore-based Kum family and headed by a leadership team experienced in the hotel industry, Michael Kum, Chairman of M&L Hospitality, said “We are pleased that M&L Hospitality has been given the go-ahead to commence work on the addition of the two floors to the Northern Tower of our flagship hotel property. We are excited to add a new rooftop bar and executive lounge to the city’s skyline and the investment we are undertaking for the expansion conveys our commitment to constantly upgrading our offerings and position the property as a premium hotel in Sydney.”

Upon completion, hotel guests and Sydneysiders will be able to capture the breathtaking harbour views from Bar 12, which will be open to in-house guests and the public to enjoy a drink. The new executive lounge, which sits directly below Bar 12 will also enjoy spectacular harbour views, however is exclusively for hotel guests and will be an ideal space for informal meetings or for guests to relax.
