Crown buys stake in Nobu restaurant chain
CASINO and hotel operator Crown Resorts has acquired a 20 per cent stake in world renowned upmarket Japanese restaurant and hotel chain Nobu, for $US100 million($A140.86 million).
"WE see the Nobu brand as complementary to Crown Resorts global luxury entertainment positioning and the Nobu business has an attractive near-term growth profile," Crown Chairman Rob Rankin said.
Crown already hosts Nobu restaurants at its properties in Melbourne and Perth, and a Nobu hotel in Manila.
The Nobu business is majority-owned by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro and producer Meir Teper.
