Fillippos is unlike any pub restaurant you’ve seen before

The moment you set foot inside Bath Arms Hotel, it’s hard to believe you’re on Parramatta Rd.

Attached to the iconic Bath Arms Hotel, you will discover an extremely stylish, industrial-looking eatery.

While they have upped it a notch with renovations, the spirit of this old-fashioned pub lives on.

The inviting, open space is perfect for families or groups of friends who want to enjoy quality food at an affordable price.

Manager Ben Quinlan said for having only been open a few weeks, the Italian inspired restaurant had taken off in the area. “The pub has always been a hidden gem,” Mr Quinlan said.

“We wanted to add something new and fresh.

“Even though we’re on Parramatta Rd, you feel like you’re in a totally different area.”

With reputable chef David Tran at the helm, the food explores Italian flavours with a modern twist.

Mr Quinlan, a chef of more than 20 years, helped design the menu.

“So far our bestseller has been the seafood hot pot ($28), I think because it’s reasonably priced and you get everything from fresh fish, prawns, octopus, mussels and squid,” he said.

It is served with a napolitana sauce and parmesan ciabatta.

Another seafood special is the barramundi fillet ($26.50) which is served on beetroot spaghetti and sauteed baby spinach with a bernaise sauce.

If you’re a fan of zucchini flowers be sure to try their version – filled with roast pumpkin and ricotta cheese – for entree ($18.50).

There’s something to cure all tastebuds from pasta, salads, grill and veal options.
