Henley Square’s Cafe Evida shuts suddenly before precinct’s $8.4m redevelopment is finished

A POPULAR Henley Square cafe has closed because of disruptions caused by the precinct’s multi-million dollar redevelopment.

Cafe Evida, on Seaview Rd, has closed “until further notice”.

A notice posted on the restaurant’s front door reads: “Cafe Evida is closed until further notice due to the Henley Square Redevelopment.

“We would like to say thankyou to all of our valued customers for the many years of support.

“Please enjoy a coffee at Green Bean across the road in Henley Square Pavilion.”

The Weekly Times Messenger has made attempts to contact Cafe Evida management for further comment.

Work on the Square’s $8.4 million redevelopment started in April and will be completed by November, Charles Sturt Council says.

It will include a timber deck from the square to the jetty, a fountain and more seats.

The long-awaited project’s time line was blown out in May after wild weather lashed the building site, damaging scaffolding and other building equipment in place for construction work.
