SPX wins contract for Midfield's dairy powder plant in Australia
SPX Corporation's Flow Food and Beverage business has secured a contract from Australian establishment Midfield Group.
Under the contract, SPX will help Midfield set up a new dairy powder processing plant with an anhydrous milk fat processing line in Australia.
SPX Flow Food and Beverage president Marc Michael said: "We continue to leverage our global dairy processing expertise to expand our presence in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
"We look forward to working closely with Midfield Group to establish a state-of-the-art milk powder processing plant to help them grow their global business."
The proposed facility will feature SPX equipment including a new preheating process to provide longer run times, enhanced evaporation technology.
It will also employ SPX's Triple-A dryer that enables production of quality milk powders.
Work on the project will commence in the first quarter of 2015 and the plant will become operational in mid-2016.
Once operational, the facility will be capable of producing both whole and skim milk powder.
