New Melbourne restaurant claims "Australia's Greatest Hamburgers"

As the ultimate comfort food, the hamburger is a staple of Australian cuisine. So it's no small feat to claim having "Australia's Greatest  Hamburgers," as new Melbourne restaurant Burger It, isn't afraid to declare right on its logo.In the quest to create the perfect burger, Burger It  has taken ingredients, tastes and flavours from around the globe to create a menu that has a little something for everyone.

"It's a bit of a dare to say we have the country's greatest hamburger," said Andrew Cuthbertson, owner of Burger It. "So we have to be able to back it up". "Of course this is very subjective but to date we haven't yet had a customer tell us we can't make that claim." "It also refers directly to the fact that all our ingredients are Australian produced."

With more than 20 burgers to choose from, there are already many unique favourites on the menu such as the "Tijuana Taxi" & "Wild Thing". One popular item is the "King Creole," a char grilled creole infused chicken breast  with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, carmelised onion and Tabasco Creole mayo. Another is "Once in Bleu Moon," an 150g char grilled Organic  Scotch fillet steak, grilled field mushrooms, Tasmanian bleu cheese, carmelised onion, lettuce and tomato served on a Turkish pocket.

Another thing setting Burger It apart is its dedication to using only the finest and freshest ingredients for everything in the kitchen. Burger It uses only certified organic beef from the channel country of QLD, and free-range chemical and hormone-free chicken on its menu.

"We are the only burger restaurant in Australia to use 100 percent Certified Organic beef exclusively on our entire menu," Cuthbertson said. "All other ingredients are sourced from local Melbourne suppliers". "Our burger buns are a French style Pain De Mie that are made specifically for us and are delivered fresh daily from a local bakery."

Burger It has only been open for a few short months, yet it's already gained fantastic reviews on many of the food rating sites. Reviewers rave about the delicious flavour, excellent service, and fresh ingredients. One reviewer even said it was "quite possibly the best burger I have ever had."

Burger It is located on 628 Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, Victoria. It is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Prices for burgers range from $9 to $15.50, not including side orders.
