Sydney small bar expands to Terrigal

The owners of Sydney’s Pocket Bar will soon be extending their reach to the Central Coast with the planned opening, in Terrigal, of a counterpart venue to the popular Darlinghurst drinking den.

Pocket Bar co-owner Karl Schlothauer said the licence for the Terrigal venue has just been approved, and now that “the green light to go ahead” has been given the building would begin.

He estimates the new venue, which will also be called Pocket Bar and be located on the Terrigal Esplanade, should be open and operating in approximately four weeks.

“It will be pretty much the same set up as Pocket Bar in Sydney, just with a few little differences,” said Schlothauer.

Schlothauer, who also co-owns two other successful Sydney small bars, Stitch and Button, said the reason for the expansion to Terrigal was because “an opportunity came up and I’m looking to retire out there”.

Former Stitch bar manager, Matteo Fabbris, will be running the new venue once it opens.
