Fantuz makes a big move for smallgoods

Owner of restaurant Table For 20 Michael FanutzCredit: Michael Fantuz has populated the Sydney dining scene with venues such as Table for 20 and Buffalo Dining Club; now he's turning his attention to the Victoria Street end of Orwell Street, at Potts Point.

Together with partners Marcelo Garrao and Peter Kypreos, he is opening a wine bar-eatery with a strong emphasis on smallgoods and cheese.

''We are even looking at making our own mortadella,'' he says.

''The menu will have one pasta dish and the wine list will be built around the small glasses of wine they drink in Venice.''

They hope to open the yet-to-be-named venue later in the year.
