Restaurant's former owner liquidated over missed $15,000 payment

A well-known Caloundra restaurant remains open and trading under new management, even as the company that previously ran it has been wound up after breaching the terms of a restructuring plan.

Three Restaurant Bar and Grill Pty Ltd, the entity formerly behind the popular Sunshine Coast venue, was placed into liquidation following a resolution passed at a meeting of company members on August 11, Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) records show. Liquidator Andrew Weatherley has been appointed to oversee the wind-up.

Corporate filings list Caloundra local Christopher Richard Jones as the company's director and secretary since it was incorporated in 2019.

The liquidation follows a breach of a restructuring plan the company had entered into with restructuring practitioner Anne Meagher. Documents lodged with the regulator detail a missed payment that triggered the default.

"On 5 June 2026, I became aware of a contravention of the Plan. The Plan's terms include the receipt of $15,000 from the Director by no later than 4 June 2026. The Director failed to make payment of the $15,000 contribution due on 4 June 2026," Ms Meagher stated in the filing.

"I have lodged a Form 5616 with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission notifying of the contravention.

"The Company has thirty (30) business days to rectify the contravention, that is, by 16 July 2026."

It is unclear if the company carries outstanding debts or how many creditors, if any, may be affected by the liquidation.
