$11.5m redevelopment set to reopen Adelaide's historic Esplanade Hotel
A historic Brighton beachside pub, closed since October for an $11.5 million redevelopment, is on track to reopen within weeks, bringing with it 26 new boutique hotel rooms and a refreshed hospitality offering.
The landmark Esplanade Hotel, which first opened in the 1880s, is being redeveloped by ALH Group. The upgrade will introduce 26 hotel rooms, including several beachfront suites, alongside a new restaurant, bar and gaming areas. The project is also expected to create up to 80 new jobs.
ALH Group managing director Paul Walton said the venue has long held a significant place in the local community.
"This investment reflects our confidence in both the venue and Brighton's future as one of Adelaide's premier coastal destinations."
The new accommodation offering, to be branded Nightcap at Esplanade Hotel, will include King Koil beds, smart TVs, room service and exclusive dining offers for in-house guests.
ALH stage manager Sarah Evans said the redeveloped property would give guests a strong sense of place by the water.
"Sweeping ocean views, and the perfect coastal retreat."
The Esplanade Hotel is scheduled to officially relaunch in early September, with hotel bookings already open. Further details on the restaurant and hospitality spaces are expected to be released in coming weeks.
