Merivale shuts down Cronulla expansion speculation
Cronulla's rumour mill went into overdrive recently with chatter that hospitality giant Merivale might be making its way to the beachside suburb.
Locals were speculating that Justin Hemmes' empire had secured a spot in South Cronulla for a new outpost of beloved Italian eatery Totti's.
But sources say that's not happening. WhileHemmes has scoped out property in the area, it seems a Cronulla venture isn't on the cards.
The coastal hotspot has transformed into something of a dining destination over the last couple of years. Recent additions like Homer, Fred's After Hours, Pino's e Cucina, and Parc Pavilion have all drawn crowds.
Just last week, neighbourhood favourite Alphabet St relocated to larger digs to keep up with customer demand.
The dining scene shows no signs of slowing either – Bobby's owners Adam and Kylie Micola are expanding their portfolio by taking the reins at cocktail spot Papa J's.
