Beau’s brings fro-yo brings fro-yo and wellness to Beaumaris
Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Beaumaris has this week gained a thoughtful new gathering place in the form of Beau’s — a health-conscious fro-yo and smoothie bar. Founded by siblings Dee and Tim Mala alongside Tim’s wife Sarah, Beau’s is designed as an extension of the community’s relaxed coastal rhythm, a space where nourishing food and warm neighbourhood spirit.
Drawing on over a decade of hospitality experience, the Malas spotted an opportunity for a dedicated smoothie bar offering wholesome, vibrant options beyond the ubiquitous grab-and-go. “Once you get a feel for the community and the people behind the suburb, we couldn't resist the opportunity to create something special for everyone." says Dee.
The menu is a considered collection of signature smoothies, self-serve frozen yoghurt and acai with the option to add healthy and indulgent toppings like pourable Dubai chocolate, matcha crumble and cookie dough. Designed to fuel and indulge, stand out menu smoothies include the Seabreeze featuring blue spirulina and the protein-packed Berry Recovery. A range of wholesome toasted sandwiches options will be available soon.
The interior, brought to life through collaboration with C. Kairouz Architects, invites guests into soft beach-inspired tones, rich walnut accents, and the warm terracotta hues of exposed brick floors. The design deliberately echoes Beaumaris’s bayside atmosphere, encouraging moments of calm, whether enjoying a post-Pilates smoothie, a quick takeaway, or a relaxed catch-up with friends.
Community lies at the heart of Beau’s. The founders champion genuine, friendly service, aiming to make each visitor feel instantly at home. Beau’s has also rolled out a bespoke loyalty app named 'Beau's' featuring exclusive member rewards through a points-for-purchases system.
More than just a smoothie bar, Beau’s is envisioned as a social hub. “We want Beau’s to feel like an extension of Beaumaris itself – welcoming, active, and socially connected,” adds Sarah.
