AFLOAT to host floating tennis club as Lacoste Brings Le Club experience to Melbourne
AFLOAT is about to level up summer on the Yarra, with the floating bar and restaurant turning into a tennis lover’s playground from January 16 through February 1, 2026.
The on–water venue will become a floating tennis club for the Australian tennis season, serving as a prime spot for eating, drinking and having a hit while the action unfolds in Melbourne.
Iconic French label Lacoste – with its deep tennis roots – is bringing its Le Club Lacoste experience to Australia for the very first time, taking over one of the city’s favourite bars for a two–week stint and turning it into a fully-fledged tennis club.
AFLOAT, from the HQ Group behind Melbourne favourites Arbory Bar & Eatery and HER, is known for reinventing itself every summer with a fresh theme. Over eight seasons, it has been completely transformed, whisking guests from Palm Springs to the Isle of Capri, from the Amalfi Coast to, most recently, the lively streets of Rio de Janeiro.
This coming January, the latest iteration will feature a more than 20–metre–long Lacoste Court extension, a pop–up store stocked with Melbourne–exclusive apparel, and a French–inspired food and drinks offering. All of this will sit against a city–skyline backdrop, with uninterrupted views of the Yarra River.
Le Club Lacoste Melbourne will officially launch with a party on January 16, calling in DJs Edd Fisher (Waxo Paradiso) and JNETT to set the tone. Bookings are open now if you want to reserve a time for a rally on court, or, if you are more about soaking up the atmosphere, you can simply sit back, dine and drink while watching the Australian Open on large dedicated screens.
