Travel + Leisure Co acquires Daylesford’s Hotel Bellinzona
One of Victoria’s grandest country hotels is now part of a billion-dollar global tourism portfolio, after Travel + Leisure Co acquired the landmark Hotel Bellinzona.
The Hepburn Springs icon has been operating since 1903 and will rebrand as Club Wyndham Bellinzona Hepburn Springs, Daylesford.
Relaunched in 2020 after a multimillion-dollar refurbishment, the 122-year-old property blends heritage character with contemporary wellness appeal. The hotel offers 43 suites with king beds, bespoke artwork and luxe bathrooms, while six executive suites add deep baths. On-site amenities include an indoor pool, spa and sauna, alongside fine dining at the 160-seat restaurant, The Virgin Kitchen.
Positioned as a major events hub, the venue features six conference rooms, two private dining spaces and capacity for 650 guests—cementing its status among regional Victoria’s leading wedding and functions destinations.
Travel + Leisure Co president Barry Robinson said the deal opens the door for the company’s 100,000-plus vacation club members to “the heartland of wellness in Australia”. “Club Wyndham Bellinzona Hepburn Springs is an extraordinary addition to our portfolio – a property rich in character, elegance and connection to place,” Robinson said.
Daylesford and Hepburn Springs attract about 2.4 million visitors annually, despite a resident population of roughly 70,000, buoyed by mineral spas, wineries and boutique retail—and a recent spotlight on Channel 9’s The Block. The purchase lifts Club Wyndham South Pacific to 68 resorts, with Travel + Leisure Co now managing more than 100 properties across Asia Pacific, over half in Australia.
