Sydney’s Cibaria set to open at Sofitel Noosa after resort revamp
A big name in Sydney dining is heading north, with Alessandro Pavoni set to open Cibaria Noosa beneath the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort on Hastings Street. The move follows the success of his Manly venue and coincides with a multimillion-dollar refresh of the resort, including its 175 rooms and suites.
The restaurant will bring a piazza-style energy to Noosa, celebrating Italian food traditions with a local twist. Alongside the main restaurant will be Bar Capri, opening directly onto Hastings Street, adding another option to the strip’s already busy dining scene.
Pavoni said Cibaria Noosa, part of his Maestro Hospitality group, is designed as an all-day hub. “This is a place designed for everybody, every day,” he told Sunshine Coast News. “Whether it’s a meal with friends, a late-night gelato after your evening stroll or a celebration with family, Cibaria Noosa will bring people together over food, wine and hospitality.”
Head chef Lucas Bach will run the kitchen, delivering a menu of antipasto, wood-grill dishes, handmade pastas and chef’s recommendations. The venue will also feature counter dining, relaxed lounges, and the Lily Pond Terrazza poolside setting.
Resort general manager Mark Wilkinson said the addition rounds out its upgrades. “This resort has always been the jewel of Hastings Street and we’re taking it to the next level,” he said.
Cibaria Noosa is slated to open this summer while the Sofitel remains operational during renovations.
