The Live Performance Venue Program is a $3 million Program with two phases, delivered by the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner.

About the Live Performance Venue Program

The Live Performance Venue Program aims to increase the number of fit-for-purpose live performance venues across Greater Sydney, Newcastle-Lower Hunter, Central Coast and Illawarra-Shoalhaven.

The Program seeks to:

  • connect existing hospitality venues with subject-matter experts
  • facilitate networking between venues, artists, agents and media
  • build industry capacity to diversify existing hospitality venues to offer live performance
  • increase sector knowledge and expertise in
    • vision and business model alignment
    • essential audio-visual equipment and sound management
    • live performance programming, audience development and marketing
  • provide funding for live performance equipment purchase and install, and start-up programming and marketing costs

 

Live Performance Venue Grant Program
(Applications open from 29th February - 3rd April)

The Live Performance Venue Program provides hospitality venues with grants of up to $80,000 (ex-GST) to purchase and install equipment, and for certain start-up costs, to stage live performance.

 

Venues Unlocked

The Live Performance Venue Program is a key Program within Venues Unlocked, a $5 million NSW Government initiative, delivered through Sound NSW and the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner.

With multiple funding and support streams, the Program aims to help NSW venues address sound management challenges and remove barriers to staging live performance.

The Venues Unlocked Program aims to:

  • increase the number of live performance venues in NSW
  • maintain industry best practice sound management
  • build the capacity for live performance opportunities
  • generate greater vibrancy in communities.
