Update! Knox’s Irish pub given extension due to public demand
Knox’s Seamus O’Toole Irish Pub will remain open at Knox Ozone until at least the new year after being inundated by support from its loyal patrons.
The Melbourne pub was due to close in the next few weeks but was given a reprieve after 1000 patrons gathered on Monday night last week for what they thought was a farewell event.
“We’re very happy to continue serving a few more rounds to our loyal patrons,” the bar’s management said in the statement.
“The show of support over the last few weeks has been overwhelming and we have decided to stay for a while longer.
“So, it’s business as usual including our incredible Monday industry night along with other amazing nights.
“We hope to see you all over the coming days for a celebratory drink and a tasty Irish feed.”
The pub opened as a feature of the then new Knox Ozone precinct in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs in 2002.
