Bimbo Deluxe returns phoenix like from fire
Melbourne drinking and dining institution Bimbo Deluxe is reopening tomorrow after being ravaged by a fire this time last year.
Reopening as Bimbo, the newly renovated bar on Brunswick St is keeping its $4 pizzas, which have not changed in price since the venue opened in 2002.
The interior includes works by local artist Filthy Ratbag aka Celeste Mountjoy, Elliot Routledge and Kristen Liu Wong hanging on the walls.
There venue is also launching a permanent weekly roster of events including acoustic music, trivia, and the new Queer Deluxe on Sundays – day parties that will begin in June.
The fire was caused by faulty office equipment, according to a statement by Bimbo’s management at the time.
