Teenage robber slashes chef in Ipswich
A chef in Ipswich has been slashed with a knife during a fight with a teenage boy who allegedly attempted to rob the restaurant this week.
The 16-year-old boy was captured on CCTV wandering near Indian restaurant Bollywood Flavour on Alawoona Street just after 7pm before allegedly running into the venue with a knife.
Chef Guranditta Bajwa fought with the boy, suffering cuts to his arm and hand, before locals helped him restrain the boy until police arrived. Bajwa was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
"It's hard, like how we can survive, I don't know how long my husband is gonna [sic] stay in the hospital," his wife Puneet Bajwa told 9News.
The 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted armed robbery.
