Change of ownership at Hartsyard

Sydney inner west venue Hartsyard will see a change of ownership next month, with founders Gregory Llewellyn and Naomi Hart stepping away from the business after seven years.

On December 22, head chef Jarrod Walsh and his partner Dorothy will be taking over the restaurant. Walsh only started at the restaurant at the beginning of this year, taking over from Nikki Waples.

The news was announced on the restaurant’s Instagram page.

“It’s time,” the post stated. “We have had a glorious time… The friends we’ve made through guests, staff & [sic] industry have added such richness to our lives. The experiences we’ve had, the books we’ve written, the bars we’ve opened, the mistakes we’ve made … we are braver but more cautious, calmer, wiser, more nuanced, more perceptive, so grateful and so, so tired.

“Jarrod’s talent is immense, but so too is his capacity to lead and teach, to continue the respectful work environment we were determined to create.”
