Oceanic Victor has big plans for kiosk and restaurant on Granite Island

A South Australian Government $700,000 investment is bringing new life to Granite Island’s former restaurant and café.

The run-down, government-owned building in South Australian coastal town Victor Harbor is set for a major redevelopment including a licenced outdoor cafe and new restaurant. The island’s former restaurant and kiosk have been closed for three years due to structural problems.

Set to begin next week, the work includes an overhaul to the outside of the building to create a new undercover, outdoor cafe and a refurbishment of the restaurant.

Operator Oceanic Victor has been in talks with several potential restaurateurs about the project.

“We want to form a partnership with someone who already has a great client base,” Oceanic Victor’s Mick Dyer told The Advertiser.

“We have access to some of the best seafood in the world so that’s something we can provide at the restaurant.”
