George Weston has an appetite for dips producer Yumi's

George Weston has acquired kosher dips and snacks business Yumi's Quality Foods for an undisclosed sum.

Yumi’s was jointly owned by Anacacia Capital and its founders, the Friedman family. The company produces up to 100 tonnes of dip a week, with the Friedmans staying on in a consultant role with the aim of taking the brand "to the next level" with George Weston.

"The export business has grown significantly off a small base - they are now [selling] throughout South East Asia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia," said Samuel Friedman said.
