TripAdvisor partners with Deliveroo for restaurants

TripAdvisor and Deliveroo have teamed up to create a global restaurant delivery service for travellers around the world.

The partnership will see the Deliveroo restaurant delivery service incorporated into TripAdvisor listings in cities across 12 countries.

It will be integrated into TripAdvisor’s desktop website, mobile web and mobile app facilities.

The 12 countries will be throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions.

The scheme would connect more 20,000 restaurants in more than 140 cities.

All customers have to do would be to click the "Order Online" button when browsing the TripAdvisor restaurant listing of one of Deliveroo’s restaurant partners.

The 12 countries to get the new service will be the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.

The terms and the length of the agreement but both companies say it’s a positive step forward.

“Through this partnership with Deliveroo, we aim to give our restaurant listings a new way to engage with the TripAdvisor community – both at home and on-the-go. TripAdvisor is already a highly effective marketing platform for restaurants, and newservices like food delivery create incremental value for both businesses as well as consumers,”said Bertrand Jelensperger, Senior Vice President, TripAdvisor Restaurants.’

"At Deliveroo we're always looking for new ways to bring great food to people's doors", says Will Shu, Founder and CEO at Deliveroo.

"We're excited to partner with TripAdvisor to make it even easier for our customers to order delicious food from the best local restaurants, wherever they are in the world."

The service would be handy for travellers looking for something better than room service sending them some soggy fish and chips, pizza slices or hastily prepared Caesar salad.

Instead of ordering food from the hotel, they could get the meal delivered to their door no matter where they are.
