Spicers Potts Point opening in Sydney

Sydney has a new hotel with the opening of Spicers Potts Point on Victoria Street.

The latest addition to the scene from Spicers Retreats has been a long time coming and has been eagerly anticipated.

The hotel has an historic resonance and is well located, sitting in a trio of terrace houses dating back to 1873.

The Victorian terrace houses were originally built as private residences.

A $20 million renovation has restored them into something new and different.

The refurbishment has created 20 luxury hotel rooms.

The hotel is built to provide relaxed inner city accommodation for travellers. It also offers a new reception bar and a garden courtyard for enjoying breakfast.

The hotel also features 32 limited edition oil paintings and prints by the award-winning Sydney based artist, Martine Emdur.

And it is perfectly located in an area offering access to some of Sydney’s best cafes, bars and restaurants.

Getting a Queen Room at Spicers Potts Point starts at $429 per night, inclusive of breakfast.

Owner of Spicers Retreats, Jude Turner, said launching the new hotel was a big thrill.

“Spicers Potts Point has been a delicate restoration-project for my team and I,” Ms Turner told Hotel Management.

“Marrying the preservation of historical features of the property, with modern finishes and amenities throughout has been of utmost importance for this project and I believe the execution of this speaks for itself.”

“Potts Point is an iconic part of Sydney, and the property has been designed to add to the existing buzz of the area, encouraging guests to curate their own Sydney experience.”

The group has a portfolio of properties including Spicers Sangoma Retreat, located in the foothills of the Blue Mountains and Spicers Vineyards Estate, located in the Hunter Valley.

Turner said the new hotel rounds out the portfolio.

“We have long-dreamed of having an urban offering in Sydney to round-out our existing New South Wales retreats, and I’m pleased to officially open this to the public,” Turner said.
