Alcyone Hotel to open in Brisbane

Brisbane’s hotel market is expanding with the Alcyone Hotel Residences set to open on August 14.

Named after the brightest star in the constellation of Taurus, the 16 storey hotel will have an LED lighting artwork. It will be the largest digital art display in Australia outside of stadiums and it will light up each night at sunset.

Located on Hercules Street in close proximity to the bustling Portside Wharf, Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses, the property’s 105 spacious apartments range from a 60 square metre one-bedroom, one-bath unit up to a 78 square metre two-bedroom, two-bath unit.

Rooms in the 4.5 star hotel will come with free WiFi, a Pillow Menu, daily newspaper delivery, and complimentary secure car parking.

Guests will also have a 24-hour room service menu available. Or they can drop in on the Portside restaurants and cafes, with a charge-back service provided. The hotel can also arrange a meat or seafood BBQ package for guests to enjoy in the Podium Level barbeque area.

The hotel will also provide yoga sessions on the Serenity Lawn, an on-site pool and Fitness Centre.

The Alcyone has been built by Australia’s largest privately-owned construction company, Hutchinson Builders. Innovative architecture firm, Cottee Parker has handled the design.

The hotel is pitched at the booming cruise market. But it’s also there for tourists and locals searching for some upmarket dining, shopping and lifestyle precinct located close to Brisbane’s inner-city.

Angus Johnson and Robert Pullar, the founders of Alcyone Hotel Residences and owners of Citimark Properties said the Alcyone will be a standout.

“Our development team’s unrelenting pursuit of quality in creating and delivering this new Apartment Residences will shine through in the experience and appreciation by the residents and guests alike,” they told Hotel Management.

“We are focused on bringing to the market new benchmarks in living and ensuring the detail is felt. This same philosophy is followed through with our hotel management team where individuality of service and the experience of our guests and residents is paramount.”
