Melbourne gets new Mandarin Hotel
A new Mandarin Hotel will be opening in Melbourne in 2023.
Melbourne will get the new hotel with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group signing a management contract for a new luxury hotel and branded residences.
It is the group’s first property deal in Australia.
The mixed-use 185-metre tower will be located on Collins Street, close to the Docklands and the Southbank tourist and entertainment precinct.
Dame Zaha Hadid will be in charge of the building’s innovative design which Mandarin believes will turn it into one of Melbourne’s landmarks.
The hotel will have 196 spacious, contemporary guestrooms and suites. The design there will focus on local culture, but also incorporate features inspired by Mandarin Oriental's oriental heritage.
There will be 148 Residences at Mandarin Oriental located on the tower’s upper floors, giving exclusive access to a luxury hotel experience. They will have access to their own bespoke amenities including a private residents' lounge.
The Mandarin Oriental will also have an all-day dining restaurant and a bar with a landscaped roof terrace.
The hotel will offer meeting spaces and an executive club lounge. There will be Mandarin Oriental Spa with the hotel group’s well-known wellness, relaxation and beauty facilities.
That will be in addition to comprehensive fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool.

The hotel is being built by Melbourne developer Landream.
