Paddo Inn’s revamped dining room

The Paddington Inn, which launched seven months ago, now has a revamped dining room.

After getting lots of feedback from locals, it’s moved from fine dining to casual grill.

Basically, co-investor and chef Matt Moran is taking the Grill at the Paddo Inn to just a grill.

“I’ve been telling [co-investor Bruce Solomon] for years the Paddo should have a grill, and now we’re finally doing it,” Moran told Broadsheet.

It’s a total meat-fest with a menu showcasing Australian beef and seafood with seasonal ingredients added.

On the menu, there’s some of Australia’s best beef producers.

These include Rangers Valley MS5 rump cap, Darling Downs scotch fillet from Queensland and Jacks Creek MSB2 T-bone from New South Wales.

And for those who want something different, there’s snapper with greens and verjuice; Berkshire pork cutlet, charred cabbage, apple sauce and from the new raw section; salmon gravlax and steak tartare.

There’s also some vegetarian and vegan options: People can find roasted pumpkin with barley and pomegranate or beetroot, feta, marjoram and balsamic.

And for those looking for some raw options, there’s steak tartare, kingfish and salmon gravlax.

They have also brought in head chef Laura Barratto from Chiswick at The Gallery. She has worked with Moran for a decade.

She began her apprenticeship at Aria before heading off to the Art Gallery of NSW to head up the kitchen at Chiswick.

Paddington Inn located on the corner of Oxford and William Street has quite a history. It was actually the first pub in Paddington. It was built in 1814 and purchased by Solotel in 1986.

Management has the front bar open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. It will remain open during the transition from fine dining to grill.

The Paddo Inn Bar & Grill is open for lunch Friday, Saturday & Sunday. And it’s open for dinner Monday to Sunday.
