Hotel rebranded as Club Croc

The Mantra Group has rebranded the iconic Club Croc Hotel in Queensland’s Airlie Beach as the Mantra Club Croc.

That follows a $5 million refurbishment adding a fresh design and upgraded facilities to the hotel.

The hotel, which opened 30 years ago, is located close to the beachfront and Abell Point Marina.

Renovations began in in October 2016, immediately after Mantra Group secured the long-term Hotel Management Agreement.

The design combines new and improved guest amenities including a large lagoon pool with adjoining spa and lush tropical gardens, with locally-inspired cuisine at the hotel's new contemporary poolside restaurant and bar.

The refurbishment has also added an executive makeover of the hotel's conference centre. It accommodates events from 20 to 200 delegates with a comprehensive range of facilities.

All housed in a traditional Queenslander-style building giving guests a glimpse of the past in the Whitsundays.

Mantra Group chief executive officer Bob East said the rebranded hotel was all part of the  Group's growth strategy in key regional tourism hubs.

"The Whitsundays is experiencing a strong uplift in tourist arrivals into the region, driven by a weak dollar and lower airfares," Mr East told hospitalitynet.org.

"This strong performance is set to continue with favourable conditions forecasted for the Whitsunday tourism market.

"The addition of Mantra Club Croc perfectly complements our other Whitsunday properties, offering great service, bistro-style food and accommodation at an affordable price,"

Mantra Club Croc is the Mantra Group's third Whitsundays property. The Group’s Whitsundays portfolio also includes Mantra Boathouse Apartments and Peppers Airlie Beach.

While it is managed by the Mantra Group, it is owned by Singaporean-based Well Smart Group.

As part of the opening, the Mantra Club Hotel is offering special rates, starting from $109* per night in a Garden Deluxe Room (minimum two night stay – total cost $218).
