Ellenbrook pub brawl leaves man fighting for his life

 

A brawl outside an Ellenbrook pub on Friday has left Perth father Diego Hulton fighting for his life and another man injured. 

Two men have been charged over the brawl which happened last Friday night when a crowd had gathered at the hotel to watch the Danny Green - Anthony Mundine fight.

 Police were called to the disturbance on Main Street outside The Brook Bar & Bistro around 10.30pm.

When they arrived, they found paramedics already at the scene treating a 37-year-old man. The man was lying there unconscious.

The father of two, Diego Hulton, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with life threatening injuries and on Saturday morning, he was still listed as critical.

A 32-year-old man from Balga and a 32-year-old man from Ballajura, have been charged in relation to the incident.

Balga man Salvtore Raimondi, 32, faced Northbridge Magistrate's Court on Sunday on charges of causing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm. He has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to a second man injured.

He did not apply for bail. He was remanded in custody and will appear in Midland Magistrates Court on February 21.

The Ballajura man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to the second man. He will face the same court on March 3.

Police investigations are continuing. 

Mr Hulton is from Rotorua in New Zealand.

He is believed to have been in Australia for about six years.

According to family members, Mr Hulton, who has a son and daughter, had gone to the aid of his younger brother Jorveth who had become involved in a fight.

The attack has left his family devastated and praying for a miracle.

His sister Nayoka Toni Toleafoa-Hulton has posted messages in social media grieving over the incident.

"We are all praying for a miracle. Please wake up Diego, my heart and soul feels broken to bits," she said.
