Crown Towers Perth, Australia’s most expensive hotel, has opened to the public

The $650 million dollar Crown Towers in Perth started taking its first official guests this week.

The hotel is enormous: 500 guest rooms and villas, with the two-storey Chairman’s Villa which has floor space equivalent to two basketball courts. There are four bedrooms, a grand central staircase, a wraparound balcony and full butler service.

The lobby has four spectacular chandeliers designed by South African architect Adam Hoets. Adding to the splendour is the 8500 square metres of Roman travertine stone across the hotel.

And the garden is something else with more than 100,000 plants and 575 trees planted on site, including a feature internal frangipani tree.

Add to that the expansive lagoon-style swimming pools, the private cabanas and poolside bar and dining.

That’s in addition to the Crown Spa and fitness centre and the Crystal Club lounge

As expected, staying at the Villa costs about $25,000 a night.

Most of the villas cost from $2000 to $3500 a night.

For those on a budget, there are other rooms from about $650 a night. And those who turn up early can get special opening midweek rates from $338 a night.

Crown Perth Hotels’ executive general manager Andrew Cairns said the new hotel would set a new standard for high-end tourism.

And that, he said, would not only be in Perth “but right across Australia”.

“The size and opulence of Crown Towers Perth is breathtaking and marks a huge step forward in WA’s luxury tourism offering,” Mr Cairns told the West Australian.

“Our bespoke customer service, tailor made to suit each individual guest, reflects the recent reinvigoration of Perth, with our guests seeking the highest quality experience.”

It’s a view shared by Australian Hotels Assocaition (WA) chief executive Bradley Woods and Tourism Council chief executive Evan Hall.

“Not only will Crown Towers be Perth’s largest hotel, it will also offer the hotel industry’s largest ballroom and premium resort facilities,” Mr Woods told the West Australian.
