Spicers Retreats continue to put culinary credentials on show
- Spicers Retreats restaurants were awarded four of the top awards at the 2016 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence
- The Long Apron, located at Spicers Clovelly Estate, was awarded the nights largest award – Restaurant of the Year – along with Best Fine Dining Restaurant
- The Tamarind, located at Spicers Tamarind Retreat, was awarded Best Asian Restaurant
- Homage, located at Spicers Hidden Vale, was awarded Best Contemporary Australian Formal Restaurant
Spicers Retreats have added to their culinary accolades this week, walking away from the 2016 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence with four awards, including Restaurant of The Year, which was presented to The Long Apron, located at Spicers Clovelly Estate.
As well as Restaurant of the Year, the brand’s restaurants also topped their classes for Best Asian Restaurant (The Tamarind at Spicers Tamarind Retreat), Best Contemporary Australian Formal Restaurant (Homage at Spicers Hidden Vale) and Best Fine Dining (The Long Apron at Spicers Clovelly Estate).
General Manager and Head Chef at Spicers Clovelly Estate and The Long Apron, Cameron Matthews, said he was thrilled to see the Spicers Retreats culinary offerings recognised across the board at the prestigious awards and suspects this is just the beginning of more success to come.
“We are passionate about providing guests at all Spicers Retreats with a gastronomic experience that is unique to the location they are visiting,” he said.
“We strive to offer guests at our restaurants meals that are inspired by stunning natural surrounds, as well as the best of regional produce sourced by our chefs on a daily basis, and culinary experiences crafted through creativity and collaboration between our chefs, sommeliers, producers and suppliers.”
The win follows a milestone seven Chefs Hats, spread across all of their Queensland properties, at the annual Brisbane Times Good Food Guide Awards 2017 last month.
The Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that highlights exceptional service, culinary excellence, incredible ambience and value for money.
