Fitzroy's Mio Locale launches Sunday only Southern-Italian set menu

Mio Locale, which translates to ‘My Local’ in Italian, has today launched its new Sunday Feast menu, a four-course set, themed lunch to be held on the last Sunday of every month.

The new Sunday Feast menu features dishes passed on by the sibling owners, Emily and Maurice Paladino’s nonna, such as house made salamis, pastas, fresh salads and slow cooked meats.

“We’re a family business with mum helping me out in the kitchen, dad doing the market run and my brother, Maurice and I managing the cafe. When we were younger, every Sunday we would do a big cook up and invite family and friends over for lunch. Our Sunday Feast is an homage to that”, says Emily.

“We hosted a trial Sunday Feast for some of our regulars and it went very well. Everyone has been asking when the next one is because they want to bring their family and friends. We’re excited to make it a regular event”, says Emily.

Priced at $45 per head (excluding drinks), the first Sunday Feast will be held on Sunday 17 July and available from 1pm–3pm and will be themed 'La cucina povera', a term that describes the humble, peasant cooking typical of Italy’s rural and urban working classes. Seating is limited so book in advance.

Mio Locale is located at 465 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, 3068 and open Tuesday–Sunday from 7am till 4pm.
