TFE Hotels move into Fremantle
TFE Hotels, which is jointly owned by Singapore and Australian interests, is expanding its Australian portfolio of hotels.
The hotel chain plans to open six more domestic hotels and has just announced to open a new Adani mixed use complex in Fremantle.
The hotel, expected to open in July 2018 in Fremantle’s stylish west end opposite Fremantle’s port and cruise ship terminal on the Woolstores shopping centre site, is TFE’s first Fremantle hotel.
It will be an 11 storey building with a pool, gym, 235 square metres of meeting space and an on-site car park, It will comprise 141 rooms, consisting of 60 studios, 73 one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedroom apartments.
Construction is expected to start in early 2017.
Adina has signed an operating agreement with the Silverleaf Investments which is also undertaking a shopping centre upgrade. Silverleaf is a Fremantle-based private property investment company established in 1989.
TFE Hotels CEO Rachel Argaman said the hotel would add to Fremantle’s rich architectural landscape and was perfect for tourists and people wanting to commute into the city, as it was 19km from Perth’s CBD, 28km from Perth airport and close to the Rottnest Ferry terminal.
"Our new Adina Apartment Hotel is strategically placed in Fremantle, which is one of the most desirable places to visit and stay in Western Australia yet has a shortage of quality hotels," Ms Argaman said.
More TFE projects in the pipeline include a $150m Adina Apartment Hotel in George Street, Sydney.
Planning is also under way for a 175-room hotel located opposite Sydney’s Wynyard Railway Station.
And the planned Adina Apartment Hotel Royal Randwick Racecourse in the city’s east will have 170 apartments.
Like the Fremantle project, it is due to open in late 2018.
A joint venture between Toga Group and Far East Hospitality Holdings, TFE Hotels has more than 70 hotels in capital cities across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia.
